Extracts from battalion orders of 7th (SIH) Bn, Royal Irish Regt War Diaries.
September 1917 to February 1918.

The following extracts are taken from routine battalion orders published within the battalion during the above period. For the most part we are concentrating on the personnel section, the aim being to record as many names from within the Regiment as possible. Again the record is not exhaustive, and in most cases there are not many names recorded. The orders for 21/10/1917 are an exception as the names of every officer entering the line with the battalion are noted. It must be remembered that a number of officers and men did not enter the line. Their duties were in support of the battalion, such as the Quartermaster and his department. Another reason was to rest personnel and keep a "pool" of replacements from within the battalion.
